NEGOTIATION STRATEGY
Civil claims can often be avoided by utilising mediation and negotiation skills at an early stage of a dispute or even before one arises.
I work with individuals to assist them in navigating circumstances which require negotiation. I work collaboratively to understand key needs and priorities in order to strategise the most effective means to obtain the desired outcome.
I offer advice to clients to help navigate difficult conversations or situations. This can be work related, for example negotiating a new role or promotion, or in relation to contract or personal disputes where it may not be appropriate to bring a civil claim. Coaching can help achieve a positive outcome, such as negotiating a leaving package at the end of an employment contract, reaching an agreement following a property dispute or creating a framework for partnership agreements.
I also offer workshops and training to corporations and organisations. Good negotiation skills and an awareness of how to promote effective dialogue creates a framework for productive business relationships. This can both minimise the risk of future disputes and establish a foundation for resolving any disagreement that does arise.
“Shona helped me define my career goals and structure my negotiations with my potential (now current) employer to maximize my ability to obtain an optimal working arrangement.”
“Shona provided me with support and advice through a difficult conflict. There is a sense of stability in her understanding of one as a human being that makes you feel secure in yourself, which is particularly important when a conflict can leave you feeling raw, exposed and vulnerable. Shona helped me walk away feeling happy with the outcome and confident again in myself.”
